Raquel Noriko owner and founder of Culture Curl Studio has been a cosmetologist since 2009, and is licensed both in California and Hawaii. While she is a curly expert, she also enjoys coloring and styling all hair types, allowing her artistic abilities to shine through her craft. Raquel has worked at various blow dry bars and salons, including Dry Bar and Blo Blow Dry Bar in Southern California and traveled with different hair care companies.  This experience has made her well-rounded in styling, updos, color services, and more. Raquel welcomes clients with all hair textures to her salon, as she believes in creating a welcoming and inclusive environment. Her love for hair and people is what initially drew her to this career, which she has been blessed to have for the past fifteen years.

Born in Southern California, in 2015, she felt a strong calling to Maui after visiting the island for the first time. She listened to that calling and was grateful that Maui embraced her. Growing up biracial and identifying with both her African American and Japanese roots, Raquel has always had a love for culture and diversity. She deeply respects and admires Hawaii's culture, which has only grown during her time living on the island the last eight years.  When not working Raquel loves to be in nature and adventure on island whether out at the beach, hiking, or going to group dance and kickboxing classes, attending live music, and spending time with family.
